Perspiring, but quietly confident
The applicant perused the panel
Regarding them garbed resplendent
In their suits made by Chanel
The questions started gently
An easy introduction
In the questions there was plenty
Of scope for extrapolation
The applicant seemed more assured
As the interview progressed
But became completely moored
By a stumping questing test
Suddenly assurance left
Their mind went starkly black
The applicant felt bereft
For there was no way, to pull back
The job was being ripped away
Before their very eyes
The applicant now rues the day
That nerves were their demise
But as the hopeful shook their hands
The employers shared a look
For here they all understand
This decision's not by the book
For the applicant's a relative
Of the owner of the company
So this process is all just a sham
And the righteous remain comfy
The Applicant

Oh boy, this was my life last year (excluding the nepotism). Had to hire so many people; absolute worst part of my job 😖 Deciding fates based on some test I cooked up is not a pleasant activity.

incredibly true, especially in my industry. we have a service manager I work with whose dad is the general manager for the same geographical area, I am constantly finding examples of his incompetence (and truthfully, embezzlement) which are strictly ignored.

While floating high up here on this retirement cloud, remembering through you all, how much I needed to retire at 70. Thanks and good luck. 🤗😂

🙏59 years of mostly under a thumb. That’s plenty or 59 years too many, depending on how you look at it. 😂❣️
