Those who don’t give you the chance to change, Are the individuals who are truly untamed. Empathy and understanding are marks of maturity. Being closed off advertises one’s own insecurities. But if I’m so forward thinking, To what am I truly clinging- Strangers who don’t want to get to know me, Whose lives are fake and love is phony? I’ve seen how extended family can be, But mine is comprised of backwards vigilantes. So, I’ll care for my dying mother alone. In the end, I won’t be the one who needs to atone.
