In 1952, Goodnight Moon (1947) author Margaret Wise Brown was in France on a publicity tour when she developed appendicitis and was taken to the hospital for emergency surgery. To show the staff that she was feeling well after the operation, she kicked her leg in the air—a move that dislodged a blood clot in her leg. The clot made its way to her brain, killing the 42-year-old children’s author.

Cats were first seen as beneficial predators but later became symbols of divinity and protection. While ancient Egyptians did not worship animals, they did see them as representations of divine aspects of their gods.

Many of us feel overwhelmed with technology and the pressures of remote work. This can be distraction, Zoom fatigue, burnout and other forms of digital sickness.

We need to be in the state of digital flourishing, assessing our digital wellness and taking action by using technology in the right doses.
