Talking architecture history with a New York City landmark himself: Robert A.M. Stern, the sharp-tongued designer, educator and author. His new book shuttles from Billionaire’s Row to the Bronx. (Plus, what he thinks of Rem and Zaha.) https://t.co/n9GA9efYAB

News Is Pure Entertainment

On television, nearly every half hour is a discrete event, separated in content, context, and emotional texture from what precedes and follows it. News are fragmented and without context, consequences, value, or seriousness; they are pure entertainment. The average length of any news story is forty-five seconds, which is not enough time to explore the whole depth of a story. And no matter how grave the news, it’s followed by a series of short commercials.

So, you need to understand that, it is part of life and you need to move on. Otherwise, one day you will wake up in life asking your ownself  - How do I got here?

Eavesdrop on Real Conversations for Inspiration

You can think of the dialogue you write as being the conversations that real people have—the kind you would overhear someone having if you were hiding in a closet in their house."

One of the best ways to get a feel for how people actually talk is to pay attention to how people talk in the real world.

The State Of Digital Flourishing

Many of us feel overwhelmed with technology and the pressures of remote work. This can be distraction, Zoom fatigue, burnout and other forms of digital sickness.

We need to be in the state of digital flourishing, assessing our digital wellness and taking action by using technology in the right doses.

This involves:

  1. Reflecting on how we use digital technology.

  2. Being aware of where our attention goes.

  3. Aligning our use of digital technologies with our motivations and values.

If tomarow never comes

What if tomorrow never comes will we miss what we did yesterday how bout what we did last . if tomorrow never comes will we forget the things we did in the past , will we forget the ones we love . if tomorrow never comes what will happen with to day will our memories fade away out of those who we care so much about .

what will happen with the world as we know it should it crumble and fall beneath us if tomorrow never comes . Shall all we fought so hard to protect die without us if tomorrow never comes.will we still be happy when were dead will we still be around in some way shape or form if tomorrow never comes...........

Gatherings: category vs purpose

When we gather, we often make the mistake of merging category with purpose. We outsource our decisions and our assumptions about our gatherings to people, formats, and contexts that are not our own.

We get caught into the false belief that knowing the category of the gathering—the board meeting, workshop, birthday party, town hall—will be instructive to designing it. But we often choose the template—and the activities and structure that go along with it—before we’re clear on our purpose.

28. Don’t Insist On Being a Copywriter
Copywriters do tend to make more than blog article writers. Even a novice can make $60 to $75 an hour. But the field is competitive, and a lot of your competition will have gone to school for it or worked in an agency. Unless that’s you, don’t bank on it being your primary source of income. Unless that’s you, don’t bank on it being your primary source of income.
