Tragic Ending

The light at the end of went out too soon
This kid wasn't meant to fall to his doom
Today the school is mourning his death
Crying in the halls, not able to rest
These kids really loved him
He wasn't meant to die so soon

Six more months until his graduation
An empty chair, and hearts left with questions
Tears and memory's in behalf of his blessings
This schools never going to be the same
He came so fast and left too soon
These kids really loved him

Standing in the halls they reminisce
All the good things about him they'll always miss
He's the only kid in school who spun a binder on his finger
Carried a boom box when skiing down the hill
Something I think about to this day still
Yet I can't seem to understand what was going through his head
I came to school, finding out this kid he was dead
A tragic ending to an unfinished story

Anger ≠ aggression

Anger is an emotion, while aggression is a behavior. They differ entirely in one central dimension - control.

  • You can't control your emotions directly. In the legal system, nobody gets sent to prison for how they felt, regardless of how angry they were. They get punished for what they do.
  • You can influence your emotions indirectly by how you think and behave. For example, when you focus on how terrible all the drivers in your town are, your anger will likely increase. But, if you listen to music and think about how grateful you are, your anger will probably subside.

Celebrations In India
  • Devotees pray for peace, wealth, and success on this day, and seek Lord Ram's blessings.
  • On this day, many people also perform "Kanya Puja", in which nine girls representing the nine forms of Goddess Durga are worshipped.
  • Some devotees also bath and dress up small Lord Ram idols, light a lamp in front, and then place them in a cradle to commemorate his birth while kheer is prepared as an offering to God.

Something that also differentiated Stoicism from stereotypical philosophical discourse was the fact that it produces men who did rather than thought.

This was Epictetus" target="_blank" class="inline-link">http://dailystoic.com/Epic... ' promise of philosophy. Sometimes the discussion about the meaning of life serves no purpose other than to distract you from the answer, which is found in front of you when you live life.

A reader's attention span

  • A reader's attention span is about 30 seconds. And this is usually a person assailed by many forces competing for attention.

  • In the past, those forces were relatively few: newspapers, magazines, radio, spouse, children, pets.

  • Today they also include multiple electronic devices for receiving entertainment and information, as well as a fitness program, a pool, and that most powerful competitor, sleep.
