Slow Living Consumer Trend

The trend of slowing down and doing things at a more leisurely pace is not new to history. It has been in the past and we can see it today.

The slow living trend is not just about the way people live their lives, but also about how they consume products.

Slow living can be seen as a reaction to the fast-paced society that most of us live in today. By adopting this lifestyle, consumers are able to take back control of their lives and enjoy things at a slower pace.

Findings by Jerome Frank, a Professor of Psychiatry at Johns Hopkins and Pioneer in Research on the Effects of Psychotherapy
  1. Frank’s research convinced him that the specific theoretical framework of a given therapy has little to do with its effectiveness.
  2. The most important factor is the therapist’s ability to induce the placebo effect, by convincing patients that they will improve.
  3. Many patients respond to therapists and therapies with scientific status, Frank noted, but others might prefer a faith healer, witchdoctor or shaman to a Harvard-trained psychiatrist.
  4. Frank spelled out this perspective in his influential 1961 book Persuasion" target="_blank" class="inline-link">https://findings.org.uk/do... and Healing: A Comparative Study of Psychotherapy.

Writing well: getting to the point

Writers must constantly ask: "What am I trying to say?" Most of the time, they don’t know. Then they must look at what they have written and ask: "Have I said it?"

If something isn’t important enough for your writing, then remove it. In fact, most first drafts can be cut in half and still get the point across without losing anything important.

Lucy Liu on her art studio: “It’s a safe space. You can make a mess and you can leave it and come back to it. I think it’s important to make a mess because sometimes that’s how creative things happen.” https://t.co/QWmdVuWjGY

No One Knows

Nobody knows the pain
you feel...

Nobody knows the way
it hurts...

It leaves no scar
they can see...

Nobody knows how much
you wish it away...

And nobody know how
it just grows and grows...

And nobody knows what it is
that you know...

Cause nobody knows the pain
Inside.
