13 The Great Wall of China is the only man-made structure visible from space.

According to Snopes, this false" target="_blank" class="inline-link">https://www.snopes.com/fac... fact most likely developed as an attempt to convey the grand scale of the wall. From low space at 180 miles high, the Great Wall is not the only visible object, nor is it the most distinguishable.

14 Marie Antoinette said "let them eat cake" to spite the poor.

She's long been a loathed symbol of royal decadence for replying to the news that French citizens had no bread in 1789 with the callous phrase, "Let them eat cake." But historians aver that the Queen of France made no such comment.

How To Create a Diversion

How to create a diversion

I lost and was amazed
Of how you tricked my foolish heart.
Deceit and then betrayal
You kissed and left me, in the dark.

But did you know, precocious thief,
That truth may alter you
For the wisdom of choice
Goes far too deep
Than clever words untrue.
The quest you took, my dear defeat,
Will question in the end
How vain a soul must
Pain repeat
And on its bliss depend.

I laughed and walked among
Your precious lanes with fiery sparks,
But I felt it all along-
You’d kiss and leave me, in the dark.

The problem

We all want to use our time efficiently and productively, especially while at work. And yet, studies have shown that 77% of employees use social media while on the clock, many of them for up to several hours a day.

Take a few minutes to watch the videos and then the next thing you know, an hour has gone by. You’ve been sucked down the rabbit hole, watching video after video, while that big report sits, neglected, on your desk.

Mexico: Capirotada

Recipes for capirotada — a bread pudding served on Good Friday — vary across the country, but it's usually made from:

  • Bread similar to a baguette (bolillo), which has been soaked in mulled syrup made from sugar, cinnamon sticks, and cloves.
  • Nuts, dried fruit, and sprinkles are common toppings.

Capirotada is meant to signify the crucifixion: the cinnamon sticks represent the cross, the cloves represent the nails, and the bread represents Christ's Body.

Cold Moon

blue seclusion
illuminating the midnight forest
every breath sending a cloud of cold crystals
it is all the best

looking at the cold blue moon
wondering.....
Will I die soon?
Is this the last thing of beauty I see?

And something tells me no
To keep living my life
Because....
There is another full moon
Around the corner

What you think you are, is just a bunch of patterns you've fallen into

Many of the patterns you've fallen into could be potentially destructive for you and those around you.  Instead, you should be trying to break those patterns and change the way you interact with the world.

You'll never get to the good life unless you work through these patterns and create different patterns.

The principle of simplicity

There are many methods for writing nonfiction, but the most effective method is to find what works for you. Whatever helps you is the “right” way.

However, there are key principles to good writing, and one of them is simplicity. Writers often use complicated or additional words to sound impressive, but good writing should be simple with clean language.
