15

15 years old and trying to get,
How to grow up,
Without throwing a fit,
My classes are hard,
I feel so scared,
Having to do homework, chores, and more,
But wanting to watch cartoons like I did before,
Needing some comfort,
While standing up tall,
And just praying not to fall,
I'm not grown up yet,
But sometimes, that I forget,
Having to act responsible,
Yet feeling so reckless,
Confused and worried,
Confident and secure,
Trying to grow up,
Yet trying to be pure.

Who are the king and queen in Bridgerton?

The king and queen at the time Bridgerton is set are King George III and Queen Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz. However, George III is not the ruling monarch; his son is ruling Great Britain and Ireland as Prince Regent.

Prince Regent is not shown on-screen; Bridgerton instead chooses to place his mother, Queen Charlotte (played by Golda Rosheuvel), at the centre of the drama.

At Queen Charlotte’s court, protocol was everything. This sense of protocol is crucial in Bridgerton, as we see the queen dictate many of the rules of this society.

Quizzes: The Local Affair

Small-scale quiz events were often staged in the 1940s by women at various pubs, as a deterrent for their husbands. Many pubs drew on this pastime and organized quizzes to draw consumers in the '80s.

The appeal for a public question and answer session is so widespread that in 2019, more than half of the 40,000 odd pubs in the UK ran quiz leagues on local and national levels.

2. Anonymity

The less personal information an account gives, the more likely it is to be a Bot.

The only unique feature is a link to a US-based political action committee:

Blackmantrump gives no personal information at all. There is thus no indication of what person lies behind the account.

The State Of Digital Flourishing

Many of us feel overwhelmed with technology and the pressures of remote work. This can be distraction, Zoom fatigue, burnout and other forms of digital sickness.

We need to be in the state of digital flourishing, assessing our digital wellness and taking action by using technology in the right doses.

This involves:

  1. Reflecting on how we use digital technology.

  2. Being aware of where our attention goes.

  3. Aligning our use of digital technologies with our motivations and values.

Stories help us to think

Homer's Iliad opens with a plague visited upon the Greek camp at Troy. The Decameron (1353) by Giovanni Boccaccio is set during the Black Death.

The stories offer the listeners ways to consider how similar crises have been managed previously, and how to reorganize their daily lives, which have been suspended due to the epidemic.

My Own Broken Mirror

It’s my perfect distortion
My face mirrored, and split by emotion
Toyed with and tainted as I move
From one to another, I fit to the grooves

Of the loose ends of sharpness that gather to unite
To be perfectly fitted
And renewed to the mirrored spite
Unnoticeably broken
But brittle and rough
Stand from afar, and admire the muffs

Help with the pane
Move to uncertainty
Lure the cheery light
And cure my fearful fright.

It’s my perfect distortion
That I recognize so well
But help me see
What the others see but tell.
Are the pieces lost?
Slipped through the cracks?
Fallen through to the dangerous high acts?
I’ll never know of my pieces that are missing.
Mold the old to fit the space
Kiss the glass, even of bad taste

Forever, but never made
To be new
Just molded and distorted
To create a familiar you

Of mirrored light, broken,
But Forever Bright.
Please stay with the brittle pane
Until the sun goes down
And pain fades
And new lights of distorted beauty
Reign again

How new emoji get picked

New updates to the range of emoji are decided by the Unicode Emoji Subcommittee, which regularly reviews proposals from the public.

  • They see if the image will work at a small scale.
  • How well it expresses the symbol, mood, or item, it is designed to show.
  • How likely a multitude of people will use that emoji.

Content creation

The first step to showing your content on most social networks is building an audience or having lots of friends.

With TikTok, you can make stuff for your friends. But those looking for something to post are immediately recruited into group challenges, hashtags, or shown popular songs. The pool of content is enormous.

Writing well: getting to the point

Writers must constantly ask: "What am I trying to say?" Most of the time, they don’t know. Then they must look at what they have written and ask: "Have I said it?"

If something isn’t important enough for your writing, then remove it. In fact, most first drafts can be cut in half and still get the point across without losing anything important.
