Wabi-Sabi Overview

Wabi-sabi is an elegant philosophy that denotes a more connected way of living—a lifestyle, where we are deeply connected to nature, and thus, better connected to our truest inner-selves.

Wabi-sabi is a concept that motions us to constantly search for the beauty in imperfection and accept the more natural cycle of life. It reminds us that all things including us and life itself, are impermanent, incomplete, and imperfect. Perfection, then, is impossible and impermanence is the only way.

The Purpose of Writing and Articulation

Being pedantic in nature, I vividly remember those rare, unprecedented instances when this attribute empowered me to discern a meaningful pattern in plain sight, which others might glean over as being banal. All of this, fueled by keen observations, made chillingly close to the bones.

Nature vs Culture

Nature is often seen as the opposite of culture - nature cannot be the result of human interference, and cultural development is achieved against nature.

There is also another take on the relationship between nature and culture. Studies suggest that culture is part of the ecological niche.

It took thousands of years for the European culture to realise that a child is not an object but a human being.
